But then the turn and river are very unfavourable.

Deeb calls. Daniel Wolf folds his small blind but Dave Eldridge in the big blind and Brady in the straddle come along. That gets rid of Eldridge and Schanbacher but Brady and Tilly stay in. Tilly pays to play on.

Deeb realizes he now has a difficult decision. Does he want to call with his set? After a couple of minutes Deeb folds. Watch the hand again in the video below starting at Nobody likes to fold a big hand on the river but, after a bit of thinking, Deeb makes the correct decision.

Pre-flop, Tilly raises it up with J-9o from the hijack. Schanbacher has a suited ace and calls and Deeb calls with pocket eights on the button. By calling on the button instead of re-raising Deeb goes set-mining. He also knows there will often be one or two overcards on the board so set value is the only thing he can go for with this call. Deeb could raise to try and take down the pot right there and collect a lot of dead money, but the call is also fine.

Three of the five players involved find a piece on the flop. Brady in the straddle flops top pair, top kicker; Tilly has an open-ended straight draw; Deeb flops the set he was looking for. Brady checks correctly as there are four more players to act behind him.

Tilly can go for a semi-bluff and bet out but she decides to check, too. But Deeb can only go one way. He has a strong hand and the board is drawy so he needs to get more money in the pot and make the draws and other good hands pay. Brady now takes the initiative and the lead on the turn. His bet is a semi-bluff. At this point Tilly should fold while Deeb can certainly call.

Deeb is getting pot odds and almost certainly has 10 outs to an even stronger monster. He could also still be ahead which, as we know, is actually the case. The last bet by Brady is part bluff, part value bet. His main intention is to make hands that are better than his, like two pairs and sets, fold.

It would obviously be absurd for Tilly to fold now after she called the turn looking for this exact card. It would also be silly to raise as she would only be called by flushes. Now Deeb finds himself in a very tough spot. If Tilly folded the river he would almost certainly call because Brady does have a lot of bluffs in his range.

But to over-call you need a much stronger hand. Shaun Deeb, however, manages to do just that and confirm how good of a player he is. He makes the correct fold with a strong hand. Poker was a mistress back then. The largest slice of my lifestyle pie was carved out for a job I hated. Drinking red wine every night helped me to forget about that little problem.

And when I had some spare time I would spend it playing poker. When I lost a few quid, there was nothing but silence. Over time the relationship I felt would last a lifetime started to fall apart. We were arguing more frequently, and always when we were both drunk. In a desperate bid to save my marriage I quit drinking. My wife filed for divorce. On the papers it said I spent all my time sitting in my room playing online poker.

I said goodbye to my year-old son, told him nothing would change and went to live with my parents. A few weeks later I went back to my ex-marital home to collect my stuff. As I stood in the midst of 15 years of possessions, I began to lose it.

I called a mate and told him to take the lot. Quitting alcohol is difficult. My life was a mess back then, as I am sure it was for my son and my ex-wife. Given my track record as a drinker and gambler I should have ended up in the gutter. You miss the sounds of footsteps, conversations from afar, and the indentations in the sofa. The isolation is a constant ache.

I find it in my aching joints and in fingertips that hurt when they bend. Ever since Homo Sapiens emerged from the East African dirt we have thrived in partnership. We had tribes, then villages, then cities, then kingdoms, then nations, and now the Internet means we are more connected than ever. My local home game and the most eclectic bunch of people you could imagine. It was like the United Nations with bloodlines stretching back to China, Iran, Ireland, Spain, Scotland and a band of Welshmen who came to life when they heard the sound of riffling chips.

The alcohol never affected the game. I knew that alcohol provided zero value for me but I was at a delicate stage of my sobriety with a divorce fracturing my sense of how the world worked. None of them ever threatened my sobriety. I appreciated that. Away from the box room I was living in I was able to forget about the pain and just play. My wedding ring.

I still turned it with my thumb, stared at it. And wondered when I should take it off. What do you do with a wedding ring? Two of the lads in particular were with me tear by tear when I quit drinking and got divorced. Poker was our bond. Before I joined the Home Game I knew some of the players. I would sit in the bar and judge them silently. Sit and judge? After a few months in the game I found myself taking and receiving hundreds of pounds in loans. Sure, we had our scallywags with fingers in the pot from time to time.

But, like John Duthie said when I interviewed him recently :. I know there are scumbags, but I like some of them because they are a bit dodgy. Something was missing from my brain and I often wondered if my mate had taken it along with my CD collection and Lord of the Rings Trilogy. When I began writing this I thought that poker saved my life. I was wrong. Those lads saved my life. And I will be forever thankful. Dreyfus said the overlap between online poker and video gaming was simply too big to ignore at this point. German poker pro Andreas Klatt lives in the Stuttgart area and has played poker for quite a few years, both online and live.

He even stopped playing live poker for several years before coming back last year to give it another serious try. Klatt won his first live event trophy in Monaco last week and it was in the biggest tournament of the whole PokerStars Championship — the National Championship with 1, players. It was great. Of the four events that count towards the MonteDam leaderboard, Klatt has now won the first and finished runner-up in the second, which has given him a huge lead.

It seems highly unlikely that anyone will catch him even if they score in all four events so Klatt is pretty close to winning the top prize of the MonteDam promotion — a full prize package for the PSC Barcelona. He needs to cash in either the Deepstacks or the Main Event in Amsterdam.

Klatt travelled to Holland to try and win the prize but he missed the money in the Deepstacks event over the weekend. The Main Event begins tomorrow. As usual, the real poker characters showed up for the post. The post CardRunners: The original online poker training site ceases paid content appeared first on CalvinAyre. Poker legend John Juanda finishes runner-up at stacked final table. Despite a recent hashtaghiccup, Poker Night in America has come out strong for Season 5 with a string of good episodes. Four players call — Maria Ho in the hijack, Dave Eldridge on the button, Glantz in the big blind and Tilly on the straddle. Glantz checks, Tilly checks, Deeb checks, Ho checks. Maria gives up her complete bluff with. Bad luck for Maria Ho. She was trying to represent pretty much the exact hand that Jennifer Tilly had.

A low pair in this position with these astronomical odds is perfect to go set-mining. Glantz gets out of the way but Tilly calls with two players to act behind her. Deeb gives it up and now Maria Ho fatally decides to make a move. This raise is good enough to stop Eldridge from drawing. This is a good move as basically only an ace would really help him in this spot.

Tilly calls again and this is where things get interesting because this gives Ho a lot of information. When Tilly called pre-flop from the straddle her pot odds were so good that she could have done that with virtually everything. But now we can identify three groups of hands:. Monsters and Two Pairs with , , , , or Middle overpairs — , , T-T Draws with or combos of pairs with draws like , or similar. Calling a bet from Eldridge and then a raise from Ho makes it look like it has to be one of the stronger hands, but this is speculation.

The turn makes things pretty clear. But Tilly might still play hands like or , and she might get pushed off them if Ho is aggressive enough. Pocket pairs like are also not in the range anymore. Unobtrusively as it looks, the deuce on the river makes this one last crucial moment in this hand.

The question is, should Tilly bet out or should she check and hope that Ho hangs herself? Apart from a couple of backdoor flushes — and specifically — there is virtually no hand that can call. So what if Tilly would have checked the river? Well, Ho would have probably given up and checked behind so the result would have been the same.

Even the flush draw has come in now and that was the weakest she could have. It would have cost her even more money. Either way a check would have been the better move by Tilly, considering the small number of hands that can call compared to the large number of hands that might bluff.

Maria Ho has position, imagination and the guts to go for a pot that was already gone completely on the flop. Tilly averted her from trying with an unnecessary bet trying to win additional money she could only win by checking. As it went, Sorrentino took the extra cash and the title, too. I re-raised too high with my aces but I was lucky that the other guy had queens.

With big blinds still on the table it took a major set-up for the heads-up to finish. Both players had shown to be the strongest at the table and it looked like this could become a very long finale. Instead, after a quick deal, it took just around two hours until it was all over.

The Italian picked up pocket aces and while his opponent believed his pocket queens would have to be the best hand, little did he know. Runner-up Andreas Klatt, however, was the player who made the most headlines in Monte Carlo. He won the PokerStars National Championship a few days ago only to almost repeat the feat in the main event. He chats to Laura. Here it is all tied up together beautifully for you.

Maria Konnikova has already written two popular scientific books on how our minds work and how they can be tricked. In Monaco working on both aspects of the project, PokerListings caught up with her to find out more.

Maria Konnikova: This will be about my journey with Erik Seidel from zero to, hopefully, hero. Zero meaning not knowing anything about poker. We know about all the limitations to human decision making but can we actually help make them better. Most people talk about how things go wrong but not about how we can make them go right. MK: Yes. Now, there are two different main schools of poker players. There are the math guys and there are the more psychological players. Math is more fashionable today; many of the young players are stats wizards.

But when I set out I wanted a coach who would play to my strength, which is psychology. MK: laughs I just watched a lot of poker videos and came across Erik. I contacted him and he accepted. What I bring to it is I was a total outsider. MK: I think it should be mandatory for much more than just psychology. I want to make clear that I had that misconception, too. I also think that poker is much better than chess to teach people how to make decisions, because life is a game of incomplete information like poker.

Chess is a game of complete information. MK: No, luck is involved in chess like it is in life. PL: So, did you come here to do field research for your book or to use your skill to improve your game? MK: Both. You take psychology to poker to then in turn improve your decision-making outside of poker. The human brain is bad at statistics but really good at learning from experience.

But if you have them sample experiences, they do. But in life our experiences are often skewed. As an example, I live in New York. Poker is a way to force you to do the sampling and to start learning the skill vs chance balance , which mirrors the skill vs chance balance in life quite accurately.

PL: And what do you think of your personal learning curve. Everybody sucks in the beginning. PL: Getting acquainted with the poker scene, who else have you met that was particularly helpful? At higher levels people are much nicer. The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a searing promo, a pile driver and a folding chair to the head of the mid-afternoon poker news world.

Part of what makes the Cash Game Festival exciting are prop bets. It was only a matter of time before Luke Schwartz and Doug Polk had another run-in. Not too long ago, football icons Neymar Jr. Just under halfway into , Kevin Hart has now taken over the stage.

Something must have changed to make PokerStars move away from sports stars and towards TV stars. Or has it? Eric Hollreiser: Our relationship with Neymar and Ronaldo was a very fruitful one and remains a very good partnership.

The contracts with both of them were for a limited time. EH: Our marketing is evolving. Historically, we have used a fair number of athletes to show that poker is a game of skill. I do think that now the close link between poker as a game and athletes is pretty well documented. In the past we used retired athletes. We felt that it was now time to look for some new ways to reach new audiences and, as you saw, we have Kevin Hart now.

PL: It feels like the sports stars lasted longer in the past. Boris Becker was on the team for ages, and Fatima is still there. Boris and Fatima are people who play a lot of poker. But marketing is evolving, and poker is evolving, too. Kevin Hart is very much in line with how it is evolving. Kevin opens up a whole new area for us because his approach to life and to business — his global footprint — is very different from what you find in an athlete.

He has not just the attitude and the skills, but also the real passion for poker and this will make it a transformative relationship for us. EH: Hollywood is important for us and has been in the past. For example, we did a large charity event in the Caribbean a couple of years ago with the whole cast of a movie. The connection between Hollywood celebrities and us has been there a long time.

Kevin just really wanted to work with us and made that very clear at the Bahamas. These skill sets are not necessarily physical but can be a lot more about savviness and psychological understanding. I realize it takes a lot of time to become good. But in poker, all that is possible. You never know. You can even beat good hands with worse hands. I must say I have massive respect for these players. What are your chances to make the play-offs? RvB: I have to win the last two matches, really, then I have a chance. This week is definitely really important. And he beat me in the first game and is in very good form. RvB: Very. I think they should adjust that. PL: In poker, players sometimes underestimate the psychological aspects of the game.

Does that happen in darts, too? RvB: If you want to compare darts and poker, in darts you see what your opponent does. If he hits a , he hits a What is similar is the pressure. In you have to hit the double to finish. Now if I give you three darts and tell you you have to hit a double 16, you might or might not hit it, depending on your experience. That kind of pressure is there in poker all the time. Of course, everybody folded because everybody knew why I was so enthusiastic.

I just love being around this event. By the way, I still won the pot. Raymond van Barneveld is going to keep on playing in Monaco. Keep up the good work nostrakhan and lets crush these regs with their array of badges Im just glad most dont have this and cant see my numerous leaks!! I had tried NCA before this, but just felt like there was a lack of support. I didn't like that the definitions were locked, and it was a bit of a hassle trying to find current updates, etc.

They have done a great job with the badges, popups, and documentation, and so far just in the couple times i contacted them with questions, the support has been top notch. When i purchased i had a quick question about installation on Skype, and he offered to install the package for me at no charge. He was most helpful over skype and even changed a couple of the badge colours for me so that all that related to 3bets had a diagonal colour division. I was also incredibly impressed that he emailed to let me know to roll back my version of Notecaddy due to a problem with it the program not his definitions.

That saved me potentially making mistakes. I definitely got impressed by generosity of those guys, they definitely care to help people out. So basically thank you guys. Also good service with the updates for new badges. The package comes with good documentation which is REALLY important because although NC is very powerful, composing and testing new definitions is very time consuming, and often produce results you don't quite expect.

For me it's also a huge benefit that you can customise and adapt Nostrakhan's badges and I think most good players will want to adapt some of the badges based on their own style of play. He ended up jumping on my computer helping me with the setup. A service can't get any better than that. I am not sure how the service will become when NCE is getting more popular, but I can almost guarantee, that they will do their best to make all customers satisfied.

I would say this is out of the box software for a ton of players especially nl and down. I think MANY players would understand how to exploit better just reading thru all the badges and defs and then actively trying to use the strategies in them. Might have some light bulb, "Ah Hah! I would recommend this package and again I have no incentive to do or not recommend this package. Looks awesome so far and your excellent service is appreciated. I think a more complex package, well thought out, update to date, good support, etc..

You guys are losing money for not buying the package.. I highly recommend it. Customer service is also extremely good. Good work. It's amazing how much more information this package gives you while playing and it doesn't take that long to get the hang of it.

It is actually kind of scary to think about someone skilled using this package. It pretty much shows you all of a players tendencies at the table and even if they adjust to you it's possible to see how they are playing specifically again you and then you can counter what they are doing.

Just like how the majority of winning regs today are using HUDs I think it's very likely that in the future we could see most winning regs using NoteCaddy or similar note-taking software and this package saves dozens and dozens of hours that you would have to invest to get NoteCaddy up to par.

Honestly, like everyone else in the thread said, I didn't really want to write this review lol but I believe that good work should be noticed and rewarded. If most regs at the tables were using this package correctly the games would be 10x harder than they are now. So in conclusion, please raise the price! Its particularly good at encouraging you to make plays which enable you to exploit opponents weaknesses.

This makes you a much less ABC player and tougher to play in addition to the pots you're taking down with nothing. Thanks a bunch! I was very impressed with his work attitude. Having worked with Nilay from NCA in the past, that experience I had was the exact opposite and he was a extreme pain in the ass to work with.

I won't really comment on pricing - you can see for yourself how that works and I think everyone has a right to sell things for whatever they think they are worth. I preordered Nilay's NCA package before it came out and used it for a few months. Overall I liked the concept, but there were a few things I was a little uneasy about. There were some stats that were way off even after he said he tested it for months of personal use, etc.

And a few other little things. For example, he has a few definitions and badges where they don't explain how they came up with their formula I guess they do this so that no one can copy their material. I'm not saying I have a better understanding of poker or anything than whoever created these defs, but wether I do or not, I want to understand why I am doing something Also the "instructions" are kind of scattered so I had to do a lot of work to fully understand everything initially.

This might just be how my brain works though I think they assume you have a pretty good understanding of how notecaddy works - which I really didn't. I have to say I am very impressed and happy with the package. All of the definitions are very clearly explained and well thought out. I was also able to have some custom definitions made and know exactly what was in them.

There were a bunch of little touches that were nice. For example, when I added a few custom defs, I was sent a file with all of my defs and explanations of them in one concise file. I'm sure it would have been easier for him to send separate ones but now I have everything all in one place which makes it easier for me. The popups, badges, and support with NCE is far superior, and cheaper. But i have had a couple questions for those guys on stats, and they have literally answered me round the clock.

And even did my installation free of charge over teamviewer, as well as create some custom definitions for free. Is your program useful for tourneys? Can I edit them, because im fairly happy with the way i have my hud set up and dont really wanna change my whole system maybe just improve it a bit. Yes you can edit NCE. However, it may be quite a bit of work to edit to make it worth your while.

After that we hope to come out with a MTT package. These might be perfect for you. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Will buying the edge package get me those packages when they come out or will they cost me extra? And how much does you edge cost??

If you purchase the SNG pack in the future it would cost extra, but we always give our customers generous discounts if they've purchased from us before. You just have to make sure you order with the same email. I'm sorry we currently don't accept that as payment. We stand behind our products, and are confident you will find them useful. If for any reason you want a refund within the first 15 days of purchasing, just send us an email at nostrakhan notecaddyedge.

We're happy to help with any problems you may encounter, but if you just simply want a refund, it's yours! Sincerely, nostrakhan. Hi, Our Sit n Go package has just been released! It's designed for short handed or full ring regular or turbo SnG's. It has definitions, 23 badges, 1 HUD with custom detailed popups, and documents explaining everything in detail how to use badges to exploit, how the definitions work, installation instructions, popups explained, HUD explained, etc.

We'll be adding onto the package over time based on feedback and suggestions. Our packages can now be installed straight through NoteCaddy for new purchasers! It's very simple. Expect updates for all packages during next week. When the updates are ready you'll receive an email asking for your HM2 license.

Once we enter you in the system, you'll be able to request the update in NoteCaddy. I hope you're all doing well : Sincerely, NoteCaddy Edge. We'll be fixing a few random things, adding some new definitions, and adding a new set of popups for you to choose from.

Sincerely, NoteCaddy Edge. If for some reason you didn't get the email, please send me an email, or contact me through skype: notecaddy. I just want to let everyone know that updates for all packages should be coming out during the next week. We have a lot of great suggestions and some ideas of our own that will be implemented. Hope you're all doing great at the tables.

How will the update work? Is there a risk some changes that I made are rolled back? Hi HossendeHaai, Good question! The update won't be automatic but it'll be really simple. For the Holdem pack it'll probably just be a patch where you can install the new definitions really easily. For the other packs it'll be an update where if you have modified any definitions, you'll need to take them out of the zip folder before importing it. I'll be sure to cover all bases in the instructions for each different pack, so that nobody loses any modifications that they've made : Sincerely, scoobediah.

Quite a few of the definitions deal with flop textures, because it's been requested a lot. There are a few composite definitions that have been asked for quite a bit too. Also we will apply the new black style popups to it, and we've updated the color ranges for the HUDs.

I'm putting off all custom definition orders until we get these all released, optimistically by the end of the week. I'm pretty sure our MTT pack will be ready for release by Christmas. Thank you everyone for your business, suggestions, and friendship! Sincerely, NoteCaddy Edge Team. Well the PLO update is about ready to go, we just need to upload them to the server. The Combo update should also be ready to go as well.

Thanks, NoteCaddy Edge Team. This update is all about PLO, here are the highlights: new definitions - Many dealing with flop texture, and a couple important composite definitions. The PLO package now has definitions. The majority are from user requests, so we must thank all of you that have contributed! They're all used in popups or as a badge.

Every definition is useful in our opinion. We've made thousands of definitions over the last 6 months, so we're not just adding definitions to boast that we have a lot of them or else our package would have an insanely high number! The Combo package now has definitions. We'll be making another Holdem update soon, and will update the Combo package again after that. Good luck to you all!

These PDF files show a list of all badges and definitions and explanations of each one. Hi, We're making a pretty big update to the SnG pack. It will be ready at some point tomorrow. If you're unhappy with it, you can ask for a refund in the first 15 days, and your pack will then be disabled.

The biggest part of the update will be adding in the "Spade Popup" from HM1. Many SnG players have said that they can't play SnGs without this, and won't even switch to HM2 because this is missing. This popup takes NC definitions to make! The SnG update is going out now. The update includes new definitions and 2 new badges. The pack has definitions and 25 badges right now. I've also included AutoRate rules for 6max and fullring tournaments.

NoteCaddy Edge: Here's something that we are strongly considering for the Holdem Pack: Make a pack called "Essentials" with some of the most important stats. We'll try to keep it less resource intensive for people with slower computer or customers who want fewer stats. We could have this made by the end of the week. Both packages will still get updates based on user feedback and our ideas, but we will still try to keep the Essential pack as light as possible to help with performance issues. Current users will have the option of either package at no extra charge.

If someone does purchase the main pack and wants to downgrade, we can send the customer the essential pack as well. Anybody that purchases before the Essentials pack is released will have the option of either package. We will be taking screenshots of every popup and HUD that is included in each package as soon as the Holdem update is sent out, so that everybody knows exactly what they'd be getting.

Hopefully this will help solve the problem for some people that have lower end or older computers : Please let us know what you think. Hi, I expected to have the latest Holdem pack update ready today, but it's taking me longer than expected. There's so much new stuff and I underestimated the amount of time it'd take me to put it all together. I think I can have it ready on Monday though.

This update has over new definitions in it! If you have a slow computer with a lot of hands you may just want to wait for the Holdem Essentials pack to come out. Current users and purchasers before Essentials is released will have the option of either package at no extra charge. If you're a NCE Holdem user and are still waiting on the latest update, please let us know.

We've uploaded pictures of all of the popups from this package onto our website. I'm not sure how long this will take to get released as it's Holiday time and I will be visiting with friends and family a decent amount.

A guess is days, but it's just an estimation so don't hold me to that : Happy Holidays to you all! Performance Issues? Read here : " Hope this is helpful! We have a fully functioning trial packages now available! The trial will last 10 days. This is the actual package that you can purchase, and you can test any of the packages out.

More information is at our site. We'll also be adding more sites over the next few days that you can sign up with in order to get the trial :. Have amd 6 core 3,8 , 16GB ram, SSD postgresql optimized, exceptions to firewall and antivirus are added, as well as I've been to all perfomance issues guides nc, hud, etc.

Have amd 6 core 3,8 , 16GB ram, SSD postgresql optimized, exceptions to firewall and antivirus are added, as well as I've been to all perfomance issues guides nc, hud, etc Hi buranela, Sorry that you're having issues. I hope to have the smaller package out by the end of the week. Hopefully that will load more quickly for the ZOOM games. I don't understand why it'd take hands for badges to appear.. Do you have any of your own color or composite definitions that use HM2 stats?

If so, you may want to disable them, or make them use NC stats instead. Hi buranela, Sorry that you're having issues. I don't use any defs that rely on hm2 stats, edge pack is latest version which was fixed. I don't use any defs that rely on hm2 stats, edge pack is latest version which was fixed Hmm, Well all I can suggest is to be sure that you have the latest HM2 and NC which you probably do, and to try out the smaller pack when it's released. You've already done all of the speed things that I suggest on our website in our support forum too I think you said.

The only power that I have to make the HUD appear more quickly at the tables is to make sure none of the definitions use HM2 stats. This is kind of out of my hands.. Hi, A new update was just released! We have 8 new badges, and our settings for our badges have all been better optimized. Next up is the Holdem Essentials package which will be more a "bare-bones" Holdem package. This will be recommended for people that are overwhelmed with too many stats, or have a slower computer.

This should be finished no later than the end of the month. Sorry that it's taken so long! After that, MTT package, will be finished up, and released. Hope you're all having a nice start to ! Hi 21! They were aware of this a while ago, and I thought it'd be fixed soon, but looks like they may have forgotten about it. It would be nice to be able to use decimals with these stats though.

Let me know if you have any other questions anytime : Sincerely, nostrakhan. Let me know if you have any other questions anytime : Sincerely, nostrakhan Thanks for the quick reply! You'll have to register with the email that you purchased NoteCaddy Edge with to post there. This package has note definitions, and the same badges as the bigger Holdem pack now named Ultimate.

To view the popups included and get a list of the definitions in Essentials, you can go to our Learn More section on our website. Everything else is the same, besides the popups and many less definitions. If you want to switch from the bigger Holdem package down to the Essentials package, just shoot us an email. It's free to switch, and it's free to switch back if you've already purchased before. Hi, I hope everyone is doing well!

I just wanted to let you all know we are planning to release a MTT package in the middle of this month! I've tried to re-import the file from the extracted "NoteCaddy Coaching Pack Files" but the problem persists. I noticed this when I hovered over the TB stat and the river pop up window came up instead of the turn bet window. All stats are offset by 1 line. Can you tell me how to fix this or provide another copy of this HUD file?

You're confused by the abbreviations. We hope you all like it : If you have any questions feel free to ask! Hi HossendeHaai, The differences between the packages are pretty big. With the MTT package we'll be playing with a much larger player base and less of the same opponents.

With that in mind, we made everything a bit less specific than with the SnG pack to deal best with the sample sizes. If you play both SnG and MTT at the same time a lot, it's probably best to just use 1 package, or mix together what you like from both packages. If you want to know a full list of definitions included in each package, please visit our homepage and go to the Learn More sections of each package.

There you can download the full lists near the bottom of the page : Let me know if you have any other questions! The differences between the packages are pretty big. I can comprehend having a setup dependend on sample sizes. Same goes for the site. Can is switch between the packages? Hmm, I see your point. The way we decided to do it was to make one each specifically for SnG, and one specifically for MTT as best as we could since they are different games.

For SnG since the blinds don't get very large we can focus more on a small area. For MTT, the blind levels vary greatly, so we decided to take a different approach. You'd probably want to have a specific set of color definitions that applied to both packages, unless you are familiar with prefixed badges.

Hi, I've attached some screen shots of the popups included in our new MTT package. Please click on an image to enlarge it. You can download them at the bottom of the page. You can see our website by clicking my name and selecting 'Visit Homepage'. It should automatically come to your email that you purchased with in the next 24 hours.

As always, if you have any other suggestions of things you'd like added to any package, please let me know either here, or in other forums, email, or Skype notecaddy. NoteCaddy Edge SnG will be updated next. Hi Scoobediah, Didn't receive anything : Could you kindly check? I've sent you my e-mail by Private Message. Will see if this new release fixes it I imagine I'll have to delete and rewrite all the notes or if, maybe, it's a problem of too few hands on any single Op Hi BlackSaphire, I'm sorry that you didn't receive it!

Thanks for telling me. I've just entered you in for the PLO update, you should have it shortly. Please do let me know if badges aren't showing for players that should have badges. There are several new definitions and new popups. We should have the popups up on the our site shortly. You can also view the definitions and badges included in this package at the bottom of that page : Sincerely, NoteCaddy Edge Team.

After importing the HOldem Essentials Package there now are pending tasks, including the removing of some notes and then recreating them. Can I even run the two packages at the same time? Thx Hi Fruto Seco, First off, thanks for your purchases! The Essentials package won't erase your other package.. If you removed all note definitions though before importing then yes your definitions are erased now. To solve that, you can just import the PLO package again after importing your Essentials package.

Then you'll want to do a reset of the notes in NoteCaddy and click Start to create new notes. Many of our customers are using more than 1 package, so it's no problem : Please let me know if you have any other questions or any difficulties getting both packages functioning together.

Best of luck at the tables! NOT working with zoom poker whenever a player is on table who isnt known to the database 0 hands on him. Means: NC Edge is not working with Zoom poekr at all. Hi patrickholdem, This should have been addressed in an older HM2 release. Are you using the latest versions of HM2 and NC? Did you try preloading the player notes after updating HM2 as well?

If anybody else is having this problem please let us know : Sincerely, nostrakhan. This is a pretty big update with many modified definitions and many new definitions and badges. I hope you all like it! Thank you very much to everyone that gave suggestions. We implemented many of them and will implement some others in the future.

Here are the highlights of the update: -Added documentation to each Color Definition that will give a brief description in the Badge popups. Sorry, didn't quite get this Hi BlackSaphire, No this was just an update to the Essentials package. Most of these updates are already in the Ultimate package. The only thing that isn't in the Ultimate package yet is the documentation for the Badge Popups. That will be released in the next Ultimate update :.

This new update is pretty large with many new definitions and badges! Here are the highlights of the update: -Many new definitions for the popups regarding shoving, calling shoves, and stacking off preflop based on stack sizes. If you have any suggestions for a future update, please let us know.

It can be a nice pop up to make and really very useful.

I'm glad you're liking your package so far! Thank you also for the suggestion. I will put this on my list to consider for the next update : Sincerely, nostrakhan. BETTING BANGARRAJU CAST

So I played. We played probably hands or less of PLO. It was a bloodbath, but not quite a slaughter, since the poker gods were doing a lot more of the work than he was, which will happen in PLO. At the time I was pretty devastated, but after having reviewed the match carefully, I am sure that I ran bad.

But to all of you, I was only the beginning of the story of Isildur. The Rise of Isildur After I lost to him I took a break from playing, but there was a lot of chatter on NVG and among other high stakes players about this Isildur fellow. The next up to bat was Ugotabanana, an 18 year old PLO extraordinaire. The matches were very back and forth and were grabbing the attention of a lot of railbirds and high stakes players alike. Generally when top class players like Cole and Townsend are swooping in to play a bunch of tables with a new player, the new player ends up going bust pretty quick, but despite tripping up every now and then, Isildur seemed to be holding his ground.

Nobody doubted that Isildur was losing, it was only a matter of when. He seemed to be solid and certainly not easy to beat, but against the titans of online poker, nobody gave him a chance. Continued Quote: It was after a couple of days of battling against these players, Isildur being up a decent but by no means decisive amount on his opponents, that Durrrr entered into the fray.

Despite being overshadowed by the televised WSOP main event, tens of thousands of online poker players and poker aficionados logged onto Full Tilt to observe these games. What followed then was one of the most aggressive, volatile, intense heads up matches ever played.

It was one of those rare heads up matches that exemplifies at once both art and spectacle. Despite having played for a very long session with few breaks, few observers thought that this win was conclusive, despite being over 15 buyins in winnings for Isildur. Before Durrrr finally quit the session he and Isildur made an agreement to play again the next day, and so when night fell again in the USA , the match continued.

That session was the most significant. His style had changed and the tables were turning, the unstoppable momentum of Isildur seemed to have been shattered. This was a moment of comfort in the world of high stakes poker. For Isildur, the night was far from over. What happened next no one at all expected, not even those who were rooting for Isildur. With Durrr having steamrolled back, Isildur, who people were before calling the masked marauder of high stakes poker, seemed to be back to his previous title of a luckbox shot-taking degen.

And yet, slowly but surely, Isildur started winning his money back. He won a couple of big pots as soon as Durrrr hit his peak, and from that point Durrrr seemed to not have a chance to protest or get even a word in. After that night he was up over 2M, and by the time of my writing this and a couple more sessions later, Isildur is up well over 3M on Durrrr.

Since then, he has battled again with Cole and Townsend and stood his ground, and has massacred both Patrik Antonius and David Benyamine. He has cemented his name in the annals of online poker as one of the strongest players of all time.

It has been only two weeks since Isildur started playing high stakes on Full Tilt Poker. We truly have witnessed something incredible. Made sense of it. Decided what it means. Not just for Durrrr, for Isildur, for high stakes players, or even for railbirds. What does this event mean for online poker? Our world is what I will call the Western poker world the word is poorly chosen but it works well enough.

And in the same way, most of the top players in the Euro poker world only play on Eurosites and make most of their money there. From years of poker pros playing each other in different combinations and matchups, people have figured out who is better than who. The Western poker world is tougher, and for that, it is stronger. But Isildur has challenged that. Isildur is from the Euro poker world, and his blitzkrieg against the entire Western poker hierarchy is a direct challenge to this precept.

And so Isildur has become, to some, a symbol of the European hierarchy. As with everybody else on the sidelines, I had to decide who to root for. And if there ever were a poker game that could be considered a cage match, it would be this one. He is truly in another league, and so in a way he is just as distant to me as he is to any of you. But I have no personal reason to root for him.

Well, more than that. I think there was something inside me that deeply needed Durrrr to win. But as the scale of the match grew larger and larger, and the impact of Isildur grew greater and greater, I began to realize that Durrrr represented something else to me in this match. He represented more than just a vicarious avenger. In fact, he was more than just Tom Dwan, more than just a single poker player, who one can choose to like or dislike.

Durrrr represents something else, something much larger. To me, Durrrr represents my generation. He represents my hierarchy. He represents the entire empire of the Western poker world. He is the king, and upon his head rests the crown of Western poker. He wears the crown upon his head because he is the proof that the Western poker world is great. It is proof that we are wise, that we are powerful, and that we are right to think that we are the best in the world.

Durrrr holds all of this upon his head. We have imbued it in him. If nobody else in the world can beat Isildur, and if Isildur fights his way to the throne of our poker world, we know that Durrrr will be waiting for him. Durrrr is our last word. He is our proof that ourpoker works, that our poker is powerful, and that we were right to think that our poker is the epitome of all poker. But, to me, Durrrr represents even more than that. But somebody else could just as easily have been in his place, someone else who might have had the same winnings and accomplishments.

Quote: Durrrr can be dumb. Durrrr is often reckless, sometimes emotional, and even at times irrational. Durrrr is fallible. It was the last big poker festival in Europe before the World Series and it ended with an Italian win. It was the third festival in the new Live Series and, although it was not the largest, it certainly was remarkable.

Instead, most of the smaller stacks doubled up and the chipstacks grew closer. Consequently the bustouts came slowly and by the time we were down to 15 players, the average chip stack had gone down to about 22 bb. In this situation the table dynamic changes. As the pay jumps become more and more important the shortstacks have to fold almost everything to stay in the tournament instead of pushing light to try to double up.

Also, there were players in the tournament so tight it was difficult for anyone to win or lose any chips. At the final table, though, time caught up with the players again and we went from 9 to 4 in less than 45 min. Shortly after Gonzalez was eliminated the final two decided to take a min dinner break — at The heads-up then lasted half an hour. The Live festivals are getting more and more attention lately, both from the media and from the big names in the industry.

Matuson and Kassouf both had deep runs in the event and again it was Kassouf who lasted longer than his American nemesis. He had his own roller coaster day as he went from dominating chipleader to exactly one big blind to back to the middle of the pack to bust within two levels.

There are more games and more places to play in London. If you want to make money playing poker London is better; if you want to enjoy life, Barcelona is better.

PL: Mizrachi is a household name in poker. Are you the most successful poker family in the world? My brother Eric plays, too, but mostly organizes parties in Vegas, and Donny is more of a DJ and a magician. The great year was when all four of us cashed in the Main Event. MM: We grew up with slot machines and roulette tables in the house.

We were a family of gamblers. My mom would play Gin Rummy and all those games. Robert pretty much brought me on board as a kid and when I was 16 I was playing professionally. PL: Nobody has a longer list of different sponsors than you. What is it that makes you so attractive for them? I love being with poker and I do a lot of the live festivals and I come to Europe — although otherwise I spend a lot of time at home in Florida now.

My youngest son is nine, the girl is 11, and Paul is MM: I support that. Maybe you want to take two days off, but you should play right away. PL: What did you do when you made the November Nine? PL: Did you feel that any of the other players at the final table had changed significantly when you all came back?

About a third of the total starters made it to the second day and eight players used the very late registration option at the start of the day to buy-in for just under 13 big blinds. Torelli, Kassouf, and Matuson all went through to the second day with large stacks. A total of 70 players registered for the 2-day event and Dominik Nitsche was the last poker ambassador to fly the flag of the organizer.

Nitsche only entered on Day 2 with about 20 bb to start but managed to double up twice in close succession to get right into the middle of the field. He was soon eliminated in ninth place. Once again he collected all the chips of every player in the event and remained seated longer than anyone else. He only needed two attempts to build a stack and go on to Day 2.

Their relative value also usually deteriorates with every street — especially when playing very deep-stacked. This occasionally leads to really tough spots as Chance Kornuth found out in a dramatic hand against Matt Berkey on an episode of Poker Night in America.

Perklins lets his hand go but Berkey calls. The turn is the. Berkey calls. The stacks of the other two players are way bigger than his. When the game is so deep, speculative hands like low pairs, suited connectors and even hands like A-2s become much more interesting — and valuable. The range of such a tricky and stubborn player like Berkey is still rather wide at this point and it definitely has middle pairs and Broadway hands in it.

For pocket kings, this is a near perfect flop! Berkey checks his flush draw and Kornuth follows up with a c-bet. He can now get money from hands like , T-T or A-Q. But the flop looks pretty good to Berkey, too. With the hand Kornuth has a fold is obviously not even an option. Amateurs would often push all-in now but professionals look at things differently.

When a jack hits the turn Berkey plays it very strongly. But it also has weaker hands in it that might fold to another bet. Kornuth now makes a peculiarly small bet. The river brings a third diamond on the board. The odds are incredible, but what can he possibly beat?

Had he found a fold it would have been the cherry on the cake of this great hand. With the final table delay concept being retired we look back at some of the biggest stories from nine years of the November Nine. Two weeks after his appearance in Monaco for the PokerStars Championship Antonius is back at the tables at Live Barcelona so we took it upon ourselves to ask him those questions.

Hopefully I can help to make it real but there are a lot of things to do. PA: Everybody loves to play in Monaco. It would be great to have a place to play. The Fairmont used to be the place back in the days so that might be an option. Personally, I think it would be good for the image of Monte Carlo because there are so many people who want to play.

PL: With all the big TV poker shows gone, with the nosebleed games online gone, what does Patrik Antonius do these days? PA: I still play a lot of live cash games. But I do miss poker, and online poker as well. PA: I definitely think this will happen again. Is there any decent tennis player among the poker community?

PA: There are a couple. Of the high-stakes poker players Gus Hansen can play. David Benyamine used to be a good player. And there is Ronny Kaiser. Leon knows very well how to get the players there. PL: What do you think of the decision to get rid of the November Nine?

Prepare for five days of cash game poker at Cash Game Festival Gibraltar.

We recap some of the best poker videos this week including advice for taking shots and the infamous Miss Finland hand.

The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a simple decision, a flick of the wrist and the cards quickly in the muck for more afternoon poker news hands per hour.

Slow rolling the act of taking excessive time to call a large final bet, when you have the strongest hand is a part of poker games that certainly divide opinion. In this video Sarah Herring explores some live poker BuzzKills. The Live Make It Big festival in Barcelona, as mentioned earlier today, has delivered on its promise.

Lending to that atmosphere has been plenty of international pros who have gathered at the buzzing Gran Casino. We caught up with him for a quick chat about his extensive history of sponsorships and his thoughts on the big new changes to the WSOP Main Event.

MM: OK, London has better poker. There are more games and more places to play in London. If you want to make money playing poker London is better; if you want to enjoy life, Barcelona is better. But here the Gran Casino is maybe the only place you can play.

In London you can also play online so you can play against the whole world. Here you can only play with players within the country.

How far will he go this time? Players share their secrets to planning the summer. Nitsche spills about the upcoming Super High Roller Bowl. Poker players, as usual, relieve their stress on social. Sarah talks to Vlogger Andrew Neeme about the origins and inspiration for his fast growing YouTube channel. Sarah heads to the media party to start a feud between commentators Jesse Sylvia and David Tuchman.

We recap some of the best poker videos this week including advice for taking shots and the infamous Miss Finland hand.

Thanks, NCE. What's the main difference between your's package and notecaddy advantage excluding price policy and blocking? First off, thanks for your interest in NoteCaddy Edge! Here are some differences that I can think of besides price policy and blocking: -You can use this package at any limit. In NCA you have to pay to move up limits.

Not just what they mean, but what necessary bet sizes and stack sizes are needed for each definition. We usually respond to support questions very quickly.. All of them are used in the package, all are necessary and relevant, and are either used in a popup or a badge. We have opposite badges that show up when an extreme opposite of a normal badge occurs, which brings up more highly exploitable spots. If you check out the "Testimonials" tab on our page, you can find some reviews of people that owned NCA and switched over to NCE as well.

Testimonials: Seriously this is a truly awesome package the best poker purchase Ive made in a long time. Installation was a breeze, theres very detailed instructions on how to install the package, depending on the size of your HM database you can be up and running within the hour.

As I said before this is a truly awesome professional package, very well presented and put together. Truly awesome and I love it, well done Nostrakhan and I wish you every success in your venture. What I thought would be a 6 months kind of things to get used to all those new features was in fact very easy. Everything is very well done and there are instructions in the package for everything. Once in a while I have a question and nostrakhan is always available on skype to give a hand.

Just a few minutes ago, I wanted to add a new feature I won't go into details but basically I wanted to a badge to show up if people slowplay or play their good hands fast and I wasn't sure how to do it. Well nostrakhan proposed to do it himself with teamviewer, I sat back and relax and 10 minutes after it was all done and working.

Don't think you can beat that support. I'd already purchased Notecaddy Advantage but find the flexibility and support on this product from nostrakhan far superior to NCA so Ive opted to use this instead, even though I paid 8x as much for NCA!! Although Im far from using this product to its full potential, which would give you a scarily big edge, its already more than paid for itself with a couple of light jams when that lovely Fold to 5bet badge shows So all in all a great product with new definitions and badges arriving every time I check my inbox it seems.

Sometimes, loose players will put you on AK and call with even worse pairs. This is also a good idea when facing aggression postflop in these games. Recently, I played a hand where I opened JJ and was called by an extremely loose player on the button. I made an overbet on a JTT flop that contained a flush draw. My opponent made a small raise indicating he had better than top pair or a strong draw. I made an overbet jam for big blinds and he instantly called me with T2o.

Becoming more comfortable with overbetting is the best way to maximally exploit these players. The best spots to overbet as a bluff are spots where you expect your normal big bet size to almost always get called and you have a reasonably strong draw. These usually occur on the turn or river. Your opponent decides to check back. Most players in these games c-bet too often on Ace-high boards with top pair plus and with their bluffs.

They check back with the intention of calling your turn bet. If the turn is a card like an 8 that gives you a good draw, this is a good time to consider an overbet bluff to give them second thoughts about calling you. It needs to work even less often if there is a good chance that a Queen or Jack gives you the best hand as well. If they do decide to call and the flush draw comes in, you can often make another overbet on the river to rep it since it is squarely in your range and not theirs given that they declined to bet the flop.

These flush cards are so much better for your range than your opponents that you can often count them as outs as well. With two flush draws on board, you may not need any fold equity for your turn bluff to breakeven. This is because one of the flushes or your straight will come in on the river the majority of the time. Additionally, any implied odds you have from hitting your straight just add icing to the cake.
